One of the last commercials I designed and Directed at (Colossal)Pictures was this Diego Rivera tribute for Chevy. We adapted and restyled a few of his paintings to represent this factory production line. We used a special frosted cell, that was traditionally back-painted, but then added shading and toning on the FRONT with colored pencils frame-by-frame.
All of the animation crew of animators, assistants and ink & painters were the “workers” and therefore incorporated into the factory scenes,
